Student Health:
Our dance classes are rigorous and will expose students to movement they are not accustomed to performing. Students may occasionally feel muscle tenderness due to physical activity. This is very common and neither it nor female stomach cramps are an excuse to “sit out” during a class or a performance. Movement is the best “medicine”. In the event a student develops a serious injury a signed doctor’s note on doctor’s office or hospital letterhead with physician contact information must be completed by the student’s medical professional. This document is to be turned in to Mrs. Graham the day the student needs modified instruction and it must state that the student is medically unable to dance in order the be excused. Student safety is always key. During these instances the students will complete written classwork that is to be turned in before the end of the class period for full class credit
Injured Student’s work:
If a student is injured and/or unable to participate in dance activities a signed doctor’s note should be turned in to the school and Mrs. Graham. The student will than receive a written assignment to be completed before the end of class each day the student is unable to participate. This with give the student the opportunity to receive the full 5 daily participation points for the day.
